The Torrent River Salmon Enhancement Project is located in Hawke's
Bay, adjacent to the Torrent River Inn.
The site is the location of the revival of salmon stocks project on
the Torrent River. This project has seen the salmon count on
the fishway go from 58 in 1971 to over 7000 in 1996. Whether you are in to site seeing, salmon
watching, salmon fishing, viewing salmon in the viewing chamber or
just walking the trail, the Torrent River site is a must see.
As part of the Torrent River Salmon Enhancement Project, you can
visit the Torrent River Nature Park and Visitor Information Centre.
The Salmon Interpretation Centre tells the story of the project.
