Approximately one hour south of
Torrent River Inn is Gros Morne National Park.
Gros Morne National Park is an area of great natural beauty.
It is an area where visitors can visit fiords, beaches, climb
mountains, take boat tours and others. The area is filled with
uninhabited mountains and shorelines. Visitors will see
waterfalls, towering cliffs, marine and dry land wildlife and other
natural beauties. Climbing Gros Morne Mountain is a task, but
the scenic view from the top of the mountain is very spectacular.
The park is also the site of the Tablelands, where a portion of the
earth's mantle came to the earths surface. This occurrence has
occurred in very few places on the earth's surface. See the history
of the park through remains of ship wrecks and by visiting other
local attractions.
Gros Morne National Park was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site
in 1987. Find out more by visiting the website
